Questions and answers

Frequently asked questions about Altus Gulf

What does Altus Gulf do?

Altus Gulf advises hotel owners, investors and growing enterprises. Its Hospitality Solutions cover owner representation, pre-opening support, feasibility studies, quality audits and commercial performance; its Business Growth Solutions cover strategy, revenue optimisation and applied AI, digital transformation, leadership development and M&A due diligence. It also runs Altus Knowledge and Performance, a bilingual hotel learning platform.

Who does Altus Gulf work with?

Hotel and resort owners, institutional investors, developers, family offices, government and semi-government entities, and enterprises scaling regionally. The firm serves twelve sectors, from hotels, luxury resorts and tourism destinations to real estate, mixed-use developments, healthcare hospitality, retail and F&B, and sports and events, at every scale from a single independent property to national portfolios.

What is hotel owner representation?

Owner representation is independent, client-side oversight of a hotel project or operation on the owner's behalf. Altus Gulf acts as the link between investors, contractors and the operator: protecting budgets, reducing design deficiencies, governing the hotel management agreement (HMA), reviewing procurement and OS&E, and managing contractor claims through to handover. The firm holds no equity in operators and takes no vendor commissions.

How does Altus Gulf support a hotel pre-opening?

With an integrated pre-opening command structure: a unified countdown plan, staged recruitment and training waves, procurement governance, brand-standard readiness and revenue systems live before soft opening. The founders have directed pre-opening projects across Saudi Arabia, Libya, Egypt and West Africa, delivering more than 1,700 rooms at 90 to 95 per cent operational readiness.

What is the Altus Ascent™ Framework?

Altus Ascent™ is the firm's six-stage method for every mandate: Discover, Assess, Design, Transform, Optimise and Scale. Each stage has defined gates, deliverables and owner sign-off, taking an asset from its first diagnostic to institutionalised, self-sustaining performance. It is used alongside two proprietary lenses, the Altus Performance Matrix™ and the GOPPAR Value Stack™.

What is Altus Knowledge and Performance?

It is Altus Gulf's learning, knowledge-management and performance platform for hotels. It turns operating standards into short applied lessons, assessments and certificates across ten professional domains, from front office and housekeeping to food and beverage, quality and safety. It is white-label per property, includes a governed AI assistant that answers only from approved content, and is priced for independent hotels and SMEs.

Is the platform available in Arabic and English?

Yes. Altus Knowledge and Performance is bilingual by design: every course, lesson, quiz and certificate is written in Modern Standard Arabic and English, and learners switch language at any time with a right-to-left layout for Arabic. Each lesson ends with a short scenario quiz, and the next lesson opens only once that quiz is passed.

How does Altus Gulf support Saudi Vision 2030?

Across four pillars: helping deliver new hotel assets on time and on budget for the 150-million-visit tourism target; advancing digital and AI leadership in hospitality; building Saudi human capital through coaching, competency frameworks and the bilingual digital academy; and bringing Tier-1 consulting standards to SMEs, start-ups and independent hotels.

Where is Altus Gulf based and which markets does it serve?

Altus Gulf is based in Riyadh, in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and serves clients across Saudi Arabia, the GCC and the wider MENA region. Its founders bring more than 60 combined years of leadership inside Marriott, IHG, Starwood and Accor systems and in independent asset management across Saudi Arabia, the GCC, Jordan, Egypt and North Africa.
