What a Hospitality Academy certificate records, and how anyone can check whether one is genuine.
When a certificate is issued
A certificate is issued when a learner completes every mandatory lesson in a course and passes its assessment at or above the pass mark set for that course. A programme certificate is issued when every course in the programme is complete.
What it records
The learner name, the course or programme, the completion date, the final score, a unique certificate number, a verification code, and an expiry date where the subject requires periodic refreshing. Safety and food safety subjects carry an expiry; general operational subjects usually do not.
How to verify one
Open the verification page and enter the verification code printed on the certificate. The page returns the status directly: valid, expired, revoked, or not found. A valid result shows the learner name, the subject and the issue date, and nothing else about the person.
Why a certificate may show as revoked
A certificate is revoked if it was issued in error, if the assessment result behind it is found to be invalid, or at the request of the issuing organization. A revoked certificate stays verifiable and continues to return a revoked status rather than disappearing, so an earlier copy cannot be passed off as current.
