Measuring Hotel Training Completion Honestly
Why attendance is not completion, why a completion percentage can hide the only gap that matters, and what to report instead.
Compliance training is the set of subjects a hotel must be able to evidence for every employee, on demand, with a date and a name attached.
Fire safety and evacuation, emergency response, chemical safety for anyone handling cleaning products, food safety for anyone touching food, knife safety in the kitchen, and guest data privacy for anyone with access to guest records.
An attendance sheet shows who was in the room. A completion record with an assessment result shows who understood it. The academy records both, and reports on the second.
Compliance subjects are set to expire, and the expiry warning goes to the learner and the manager together. Outstanding and overdue items are visible by department and by property so the gap is found before an inspection finds it.
Why attendance is not completion, why a completion percentage can hide the only gap that matters, and what to report instead.
The training and procedure work a pre-opening team cannot defer, ordered by when it has to happen.
