Course description

When the alarm sounds, guests look to the nearest uniform. This course prepares every colleague of Dyafa Hotels & Resorts to answer that look with calm, fast and organized action: stop work, listen, report danger and guide guests to the nearest safe exit.

You will learn the three team roles during an evacuation, how to use the safe route, how to help older guests, guests with disabilities, children and guests facing a language barrier, what to do when a route becomes unsafe, and how to keep and account for your group at the assembly point.

The golden rule runs through every chapter: use the stairs, reach the assembly point, and do not re-enter.

What will i learn?

  • Act immediately and calmly when the alarm sounds, following the five first actions
  • Carry out an assigned team role: guide, check or coordinate
  • Lead guests along the nearest safe exit route using the stairs, not the lift
  • Support older guests, guests with disabilities, children and guests facing a language barrier
  • Keep, count and report your group at the assembly point without re-entering the building

Requirements

  • No prior training is needed; you should know your own hotel's emergency procedure and assigned role.

Frequently asked question

Only if you are trained and authorized to use it. Otherwise ask the guest before helping, follow the plan and request help through the control centre.

Report the name and last-seen location to the person in charge. Do not go back into the building to search; leave rescue to the emergency teams.

Stop and change route: use the approved alternative exit, guide guests away from the danger, inform security and the control centre, and follow the evacuation leader.
